The 24th
At last – peace and quiet. A moment to gather my thoughts. A minute to contemplate just what the hell happened last week. And the week before that. It’s Tuesday, that I know, and today I received the mastered and final version of my new album, The 24th. Eleven songs strong, and clocking in at 38.2 minutes according to iTunes. Eleven songs featuring the most honest and heartfelt music and lyrics I have ever written. I turn 30 this year, and I’ve been writing music for the past 20 years. I’ve played in a vast amount of bands. I’ve released three albums with Tiger Lou, one with Araki, one with Las Puertas, an EP and a never-released album with Music By Em, several demos and collaborations with other artists. I’ve written hundreds of songs. I’ve played between 300-400 shows. I’ve always wanted to make music.
But never have I felt more at ease, more proud and – for a lack of a better word – happier, about a project – than I feel about The 24th. I can, in all honesty, tell you that it took me these 20 years of living and experiencing and failing and learning to be able to write these songs. To finally dare to do something extremely personal. To let my voice and my lyrics speak for themselves.
If things go according to plan, come end of April, The 24th gets released, and then you can judge for yourselves. Maybe you like it, maybe you don’t. What matters to me only, is the fact that I made these songs come alive. And had fun doing so.
See you on the road!
Glad you finally settled down =), I can’t wait for the new album!
i’m looking forward to listen to the album. demos sound amazing, can’t imagine the final versions of them, although that’s sad you had to left out four songs.
So glad to hear that you’re happy, and April is my new favorite month now. (:
Any way I could convince you to hop the pond over to the US sometime?
We’d love to have you.
i am looking forward to the release and seeing you life the third time(you surely are going to play somewhere in the northwest of germany, aren’t you?).
it is great to see that you are interested in movies. i just listened to your work for the first time and i really like it.
you should watch ‘hunger’, the first movie by a british artist called steve mcqueen. it is extraordinary.

Hey Rasmus,
I’m really looking forward to seeing you live in Berlin next week, although I liked ‘A Partial Print’ a lot more than ‘The 24th’, it sounded more melancholic and therefore deeper to me.
But maybe you’ll prove me wrong next Wednesday. I still hope you’ll play some Tiger Lou songs though. Maybe ‘You Can’t Say No To Me’?
Kind Regards, BERLIN
