Calle came by to track some guitar, and a great one at that. Rolf went back to his normal day job as a high school teacher, and me I stayed behind, recording a few leads, listening to everything, trying to make sense of what exactly it is I’m doing here. Went home around 6 pm due to a serious brain fry. Was a wee hung over actually, from the two beers and the one whiskey I had just before bedtime the night prior. What an old man I turning into! Jesus. For the rest of the year I’m gonna do nothing but ride my skateboard, eat instant noodles, get drunk on week nights, play loud rock, wear my new leather jacket, not worry about the mortgage and sleep till noon every day! Ha!

Went to bed early but could not for the life of me fall asleep. Kept thinking about the album and the songs, their structure and arrangements. I felt completely lost, and doubted most of what I have done this far. The whole idea of the record was to do something different than Tiger Lou and Araki, something simple, heartfelt and sincere. I guess most of the songs have those characteristics, but some are plain pop songs, and could’ve easily ended up in Tiger Lou. I started with the notion of just using my voice, my guitar and adding a few elements of piano, guitar melodies and strings as I went along. Then I felt the urge to complete a few of the songs with drums and bass, and ended up emphasizing the pop elements of those tracks. Now I’m in limbo as I love the way the songs sound but I’m just not sure they fit the album … FUCK!!!
